Quite often, people don’t realise the potential dangers inside their homes, as not all threats are visible. If you have an alteration made to your electrical installation, it is essential an electrician checks the earthing and bonding arrangements are up to standard, the safety of any new work you are having done depends on this. If the earthing and bonding isn’t satisfactory, you run the risk of electric shock. A clear sign that you may need to upgrade is if your lights are flickering or your sockets are unresponsive.
We also offer full and partial rewires of the circuits within properties. Over time it may become apparent your home wiring is no longer up to the job and it is time for either a partial or full rewire. Signs you may need to re-wire include your circuit breaker tripping or fuses blowing on a consistent basis.
An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR), often referred to as a Landlord Safety Test or Homebuyers Test, is recommended to homeowners at least every ten years. If you are planning to move home it is highly recommended you have one done. Home insurance often requires the proprietor to have one done. Ultimately, if you suspect that your current electrics are faulty or outdated, an EICR will determine what action you need to take.
